Q: Does SPYFC practice player safety?
A: Yes! Safety is our top priority. Most parents don’t know that despite being a contact sport, youth football has fewer injuries than youth soccer. Player safety is integrated into our whole program. Visit our Safety Page to learn more about SPYFC’s safety measures.
Q: Is tackle football right for my child?
A: Any parent involved with this program will tell you it’s an incredible experience for the whole family. It does much more than develop football skills. It develops leaders with good academic performance and tools for success in life. Players are instilled with a strong sense of community and the principles of good sportsmanship, leadership, dedication, and teamwork.
Q: What age does my child have to be to participate?
A: In order for kids to participate in Football or Cheer they must be 5 years old before August 1st of the applicable calendar year and also be enrolled in Kindergarten.
Q: When does the season start and how long does it run?
A: The 2024 Season begins July 8th with our 3-week summer camp. This summer camp is not mandatory but highly recommended to get an early start on required skills. The official season starts July 29th, beginning with 5 days of heat acclimation. Games will start the weekend of August 17th and run until Super Bowl Weekend October 26th.

Q: How much does it cost?
A: The cost is $195 for the first player and there are discounts for additional players in a family. Payment plans are also available to make it easier to afford.
Q: What is provided with registration?
A: Registration includes participation for player. Uniforms are provide at the start of the season and must be returned at the end. Included in the uniforms are Practice Jersey, Integrated Practice Pants, 2 Game Jerseys, Integrated Game Pants, Shoulder Pads, Helmet, Guardian Cap Practice Protective Helmet Cover, and Standard Mouth Guard (Do Not Need to Return the Mouth Guard). Players must provide socks and cleats. We also require kids to have a water bottle at practices.
Q: Where are games and how far do we have to travel?
A: SPYFC hosts 3-5 home games per season at South Park High School’s Eagle Stadium. All away games are played against other WPYFL Class AA Teams. Driving times can be between 15 to 60 minutes. You can find other teams and fields on the WPYFL Website.
Q: Where are practices?
A: Due to field availability practices may be held at Edgebrook Field, South Park Oval, or the field in the upper High School Stadium parking lot. Practice times and locations will be communicated before the season starts.
Q: How often do teams practice?
A: Practices are Monday – Thursday during August until school starts. Once school starts we will go down to 3 days a week.
Q: How long are practices?
A: Practice time will be between 1.5 – 2 Hours.
Q: Will my child get playing time?
A: Players are guaranteed a minimum of 2-6 plays per game. This is checked each game by one of the coaches on the team. Players earn more playing time as they learn the game and improve their football skills. First and foremost we are a teaching organization and we must ensure every child has the skills to participate safely. If there is concern about playing time we ask that you speak with your teams head coach.
Q: Can I sponsor a team?

Before the Scheduled Scrimmage Weekend (8/11/24) - 100% of registration fees (service fees excluded).
After the Scheduled Scrimmage Weekend (8/18/24) - NO refunds.
All uniforms must be returned before receiving a refund!
